The main characteristic of this mesh is its coarseness. HOTmesh is a cost-effective solution for heating bridges, runways, driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots, built with either concrete or asphalt. It is now possible to keep concrete dry and free of snow at a mere fraction of the current cost, duration, and effort. Government contractors, builders of hotels, airports, and shopping centers, are potential buyers and implementers of these HOTmesh applications.
The hydronic heating systems currently used in the concrete industry, are less effective than a mesh-based system. Mesh-based systems show a consistently competitive advantage over existing hydronic-based systems. Mats suitable for use in concrete applications are coated with white silicon rubber paint for electrical insulation.
Important: When using HOTmesh in a concrete application, it is important to note that the temperature inside the concrete should not exceed 176°F. Any higher temperature can cause the concrete to crack. The mesh temperature is directly proportional to the applied voltage on the electrode terminals.
